Neillsville Department of Public Works
The Department of Public Works consists of ten full-time employees: the Director of Public Works, two working foremen and six machine operators/laborers

The Director of Public Works, 118 W. Fifth Street, 715-743-5678
Administers the overall operations of the three departmental divisions- Street Department, Water Department, and Sewer Department; coordinates construction projects with engineers, planners and state agencies; maintains all public records and documents of the department; supervises department personnel; provides recycling and garbage information; and performs the duties of – Building Inspector, Zoning Administrator, and Weed Commissioner; develops the department budget proposal for the next fiscal year, while controlling the expenditures of the current fiscal year budget to maximize the value of public expenditures.

Street Department, 607 Oak Street, 715-743-3515
The department provides: maintenance and repair of street, alleys, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, bridges, street signs, street lights, traffic signals, storm sewers, culverts, drainage ponds, city buildings and structures, and machinery and equipment; snow and ice removal, street cleaning, weed control and nuisance abatement activities authorized by the Common Council; assists with city events, beautification projects, and in the event of disasters and emergencies.

The department provides the day-to-day operation of providing water to its customers, from the wells to you.  The operation, maintenance, and repairs of wells, pump houses, pumping and purification equipment, supply mains, reservoirs/standpipes, transmission and distribution mains, meters, fire hydrants, buildings and structures, machinery and equipment, and administrative duties – meter reading, laboratory testing and reports, inventory, expenditures, and public information on water source protection and conservation.

Sewer Department, 500 W. Eighth Street, 715-743-3592
The department provides the day-to-day operations of providing sanitary sewer service, from the customer through treatment.  The operation, maintenance, and repair of service connections, collection mains, interceptor mains, force mains, receiving wells, pumping equipment, treatment equipment/chemical additions and removals (chlorine, phosphorus, and other chemicals), buildings and structures, machinery and equipment, and administrative duties – laboratory testing and reports, inventory and expenditures.
